Parker Hughes is a senior at South Forysth High School, where she is a cast member of the Southside Improv'ers and officer of the school's improv club. She is active in the drama program at SFHS, and has blogged in the past about improv, theatre, and fine arts. She also dabbles in stand-up comedy and witty Facebook posts.
Parker's interest in improvisational comedy really only began after joining her school's weekly club, where the opportunity to practice regularly with constructive feedback lead to her passion and commitment. Parker works hard not only to provide advice from the vantage point of a learning improviser, but to also get on a similar level with those who have had unsuccessful attempts before. Her best advice? Put your back into it. Aside from improv, Parker is an active actor in Atlanta and a writer. Her witty humor has landed her small opportunities at stand up, but she prefers her quips to be turned into thoughtful plays instead of comedy sets. She has published work, and has a produced play in the works. Her unique style of character centered performance has landed her awards for "Character Capacity" as well as "Best Actress" and "Most Applause Before Stepping Onstage." She can be described as a Ringo Starr enthusiast and enjoys Frasier reruns. |
